Hundreds of Toronto Youth to Participate in Winter Walk for Homeless Youth
Toronto, ON, February 28, 2012—On March 6th, hundreds of middle school children will take to the streets of Toronto walking from Sterling Hall School to Eva’s Phoenix in support of homeless youth.
The Floyd Honey Foundation is organizing this 5th annual event where young fundraisers are escorted on their 17 KM walk by police to the Phoenix shelter, with many snack stops along the way. The day finishes up with a barbecue for some very deserving participants.
Proceeds from the event go to Eva’s Phoenix—a transitional housing operation—to help in our mission to get youth off the streets permanently. Phoenix houses 50 youth for up to a year in townhouse style units.
Start: Sterling School, 99 Cartwright Ave (near Yorkdale Mall)
Time: 8:00 a.m.
Finish: Eva’s Phoenix, 11 Ordnance Street (Strachan & King St.)
Time: Finishes at 3 p.m., but participants will start arriving around noon.
